Do you remember how sunday school was when you were a kid? Being bribed with timbits and wearing uncomfortable clothes while sitting in those old wood chairs? Well, timbits are still in play but we hope to offer a fresh take on old truth. At Emmanuel we strive to offer a place where kids can be kids, where learning can happen while engaging different learning styles. If your child has grown up in church- Great!, if they haven’t-Great! all are welcome and we will try our hardest to make everyone welcome. Our team of volunteers are a kaleidosaic of different experiences and methods – which we CELEBRATE! So, check your children in when you arrive at the check in centre.
But enough talk – at 10:30am come… study//sing//grow//live
psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
AWANA stands for Approved Workers Are Not Ashamed, but most kids just know that it stands for learning, celebrating and dancing in a discipled fashion. AWANA has been a staple here at Emmanuel for a long time- we believe that it impacts kids in a special way.
Wednesday evenings (September-April): AWANA is a ministry with fully integrated evangelism and focused discipleship for children age 2 – Grade 5.
- Puggles: birth to 2
- Cubbies: age 3 – JK
- Sparks: SK – Grade 2
- Truth & Training: Grades 3-5
AWANA features scripture memorization as the core method of teaching the Bible. Children will be discipled by leaders who will assist them in their memory work. Children earn AWANA dollars and are able to visit the General Store at the end of each month. AWANA also includes games, crafts, Bible lessons, teaching times, themed nights and more.
