Lead Pastor
I’m passionate about communicating God’s grace, love, and hope in Christ. I long to see Christians living together in love under Christ, united and filled with His Spirit, and sent out to live His mission.
I grew up in a faithful Christian home but it was as a teen that God got a hold of me. Since then, I’ve been motivated by what God has done for me and God’s led me to serve Him through leading a worship ministry, serving those on the margins of society in various ways, spending three-months in a bush village in South Sudan, and as Pastor of Youth and Young Adults in Burlington, ON.
I did an Honour’s BA in Religious Studies at McMaster University where I was stretched studying faith in a secular context, and then enjoyed doing a Master of Divinity degree at Regent College, in Vancouver, BC, where I met my lovely wife, Jill.
When I’m not trying to keep up with our three young and energetic kids at the various parks in Elmira, you’ll find me trying for PRs on my road bike, reading, or working on our landscape or century home.

A little about my family: I am married to Darlene. We have three children, Christa & Steve Wideman, Ryan & Monica from Emmanuel and Tyler & Amy who attend Listowel Missionary Church. They have blessed us with eight grandchildren.
Favourite things to do/places to visit: We live on a small broiler chicken farm near Glen Allan. In our spare time we love to spend time with our grandchildren and recently have enjoyed some time at Sight and Sound in Lancaster PA.
What makes Emmanuel a special place to worship and serve: We enjoy the fellowship at Emmanuel because of its multi generational makeup.
Prayer Request for my ministry: My prayer is that unity would be strong at Emmanuel through all of the transitions and changes in leadership.

Elmira is a community I am proud to call my hometown. At 17 I left for University receiving my degree in HR Management and CHRL designation. Todd and I married in 2004 and together we have four incredible kids. I am passionate about Children’s Ministry and the Sunday School and AWANA program run here at Emmanuel. I am a firm believer in Proverbs 22:6 and I am grateful to be a part of the culture at Emmanuel where we strive to Make Faith in Jesus Live.
